Something for everyone...
Chancel Choir:
This choir is made up of volunteer adults, but is also open to older youth who like to sing. The Choir sings a wide variety of music from the traditional sacred music repertoire, with occasional classical composers as well, and present special extended choral works with instrumental accompaniment at Christmas. The choir meets regularly in the choir rehearsal room downstairs on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. The choir usually takes the month of July off. This is truly an "intergenerational" choir. Warm ups on Sunday morning begin at 10:35 a.m. (in the choir room) prior to helping lead the congregation in worship.
Length of Service: August through June Number of Service Hours: 2-3 hours per week; more for special services
Jubilate Hand Bell Choir:
The Jubilate Bell Choir is an adult handbell choir with experienced players. However, the invitation is always open for those (youth or adult) desiring to learn how to "ring". You do not need to be a musician (play instruments, sing, or be able to read music). We will help you develop the skills you need to ring bells. Our goal is to lead in worship by playing appropriate Handbell/Handchime literature. Rehearsals and playing occasions occur September through May. Commitment to bell choir requires regular attendance at rehearsals and "performance" times. This group has participated in community activities also: county-wide handbell festivals and concerts at retirement communities. Bell choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Length of Service Commitment: late summer-May
Number of Service Hours: varies
Youth Hand Bell Choir:
This bell choir will be for young people (KFC, TLC group ages) and will meet at 4:45-5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon before youth groups meet. Rehearsals will be held in the hand-bell room in the balcony. Emphasis will be on learning ringing technique for both hand chimes and bells, as well as learning to read music and following bell music scores. This group will play in worship as they are able to do so. Contact Mrs. Jean Cann for any questions you may have.
Primary Choir
A new group in fall 2011 formed for children who have reached the age of four and are developmentally ready to join a choir. It is an opportunity to experience music within the church and sing during Sunday morning worship several times throughout the year. Rehearsals include, listening, rhythym, singing, games, movement, and playing instruments while learning musical concepts. The group meets downstairs in the rehearsal room on Wednesdays, September through May from 5:00-5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Music Makers Choir
The combined Beginner's and Carol choirs will now be known as "Music Makers" and will meet on Wednesdays, downstairs in the rehearsal room from September to May at 4:00-5:00 p.m. The emphasis of this choir is to learn musical concepts through vocal and instrumental experiences. Help will be given to aid the singing voice to continue to develop and be used correctly. The group studies hymns, begins part singing, and prepares to lead in worship throughout the year. Regular attendance at rehearsals and worship service is required. Opportunities to play Orff instruments, autoharp and recorder will be provided.

Play & Learn
The purpose of Play and Learn is for children to learn to socialize, learn new skills, and learn to work and play together. We sing, use movement, play games, learn Bible stories, play instruments, share and take turns. The program is designed for children who are two and three years old (*age 2 by Sept. 1st of each year). This group meets on Tuesdays at the church in the Play & Learn room downstairs at 5:15 p.m. Parents may choose to sit in the choir room next door or gather in the kitchen off the Scout room unless you are needed to assist. Some children respond well when they are left to be independent; others may need some support. As long as they know you are close by and will help, everyone will do just fine!
