On-going opportunities to strengthen your commitment to Christ in 2008

1.     Sunday School for all ages – Sundays at 9:45am  

Classes for nursery through adult

 2.     Worship Service --  Sundays, 11:00 am  News of Interest

Special services at Christmas and Easter
Children’s bulletins are available each Sunday.
Nursery/Child care for infants – 3 years
Worship Readiness – ages 4 years through first grade

 3.     Youth Fellowship – Sundays, 5:30 pm, Sept. through May  
                        Dinner begins at 5:30 - 6pm and activities begin from 6 - 7pm. 

Play & Learn (3yrs - 6yrs)
KFC (Kids for Christ)  - (grades 1-3)
1st PLAY (1st Pres Laurens Awesome Youth)  - (grades 4- 8)
Senior Highs (grades 9-12)

 4.     Fellowship Supper  --  Third Sunday in the month

 5.     Music Program –

Chancel Choir – Wednesdays, 7:30-8:45 pm, except during July.
Special musical programs for Christmas & Easter
Children’s Choirs – on Wednesdays (Sept-May)
Jubilate Bell Choir – Wednesdays, 6:15-7:15 pm   (Sept. – May)

 6.    Boy Scout Troop 339 –

Sponsored by Men of the Church, Mondays, 7:00 pm, at the church,            
Scoutmaster: Willie Couch; Assist. Scoutmaster: Robbie Hill

7.     Presbyterian Women – (Sept.-May)

Four circles meet for Bible study on the first Monday & Tuesday after the first Sunday of each month at various times – morning, noon, afternoon and evening.

 8.   Roads Scholars –

A daytime trip is planned occasionally to various locations – usually a historical site or museum, play or place of interest. 

 9.   Men of the Church –

Monthly breakfast meeting on Sunday mornings at 8:30 (Sept. – May) for fellowship and a program.  The organization provides ice cream suppers for Presbyterian Home and Frampton Hall in the summer.  It sponsors Boy Scout Troop 339.

 10.   Community Welfare Fund –

Church contributes to a  fund for the needy, supplying emergency food.

 11.   Presbyterians Today –

Mailed each month to all  members who subscribe.

 12.    Stephen Ministry–

A one-to-one caring ministry through which one Christian reaches out to another in times of loneliness, grief, depression, illness, pain or other concern.

 13.   Mission Activities-

Groups from the church periodically participate in mission projects, such as Habitat for Humanity house, mission trips to West Virginia and Mexico, and working in a soup kitchen sponsored by Spartanburg Second Presbyterian Church once a quarter.
